Job Description
Marut Drones is looking for a UAV Engineer to join our growing team. The role involves working on the design, development, testing, and maintenance of UAV systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that UAVs meet performance, reliability, and safety standards, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create high-performance aerial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- UAV Design & Development: Work on the design and development of UAV systems, including propulsion, flight control, power systems, and payload integration.
- Testing & Validation: Assist in the testing and validation of UAV systems and components. Participate in flight testing, data analysis, and troubleshooting of issues.
- System Integration: Collaborate with hardware, software, and mechanical engineering teams to integrate various systems into a complete UAV platform.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Provide technical support for troubleshooting and maintaining UAV systems, identifying issues, and ensuring systems operate at peak performance.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze UAV system performance data and provide recommendations to optimize flight performance, endurance, and stability.
- Prototyping & Modifications: Assist with the development of prototypes, making modifications or improvements to UAVs based on test data and customer feedback.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, documentation, and schematics for UAV designs, test results, and performance assessments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, production, and operations teams to ensure successful development and deployment of UAV systems.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all UAV systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and certifications.
Knowledge and skill required
- Strong knowledge of UAV systems, including flight controllers, propulsion, sensors, and payload integration.
- Proficiency with UAV simulation software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) and flight control systems.
- Experience with CAD software for design and prototyping (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Understanding of UAV flight dynamics, navigation, and control systems.
- Problem-solving abilities for troubleshooting UAV systems and optimizing performance.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, certification standards, and safety requirements.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in the drone/UAV industry, with hands-on experience in UAV development, system integration, flight testing, troubleshooting, or performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with UAV testing, development, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with UAV components, sensors, and electronics.
- Experience with drone development tools (CAD, CAM, PLM) is a plus.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (FAA, EASA) is an advantage.
